| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, July 31st, 2007: Brown Rips Osawatomie for 5 Hits
It was a parade of hits for Jeremy Brown of the Anchorage Nauticals...one right after another...a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Osawatomie Sun Caps for 5 hits in his 6 at-bats. But the Sun Caps rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 16-13 win.
"Brown was really good...we were just a little better," said the Sun Caps manager in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, if we win."
J. Brown hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, walked in the 11th and walked in the 12th.

| Monday, July 30th, 2007: Star of the Week Picked in SL2
With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Anchorage Nauticals first baseman Kevin Melillo took the Sub League 2 by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors.
"The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Melillo said to SION reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere."
The 25-year-old first baseman hit .483 (14-29) last week with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
This year Melillo is hitting at a .265 pace with no home runs and 14 RBIs. He has played in 36 games and scored 13 times. |
