| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, December 12th, 2007: Philadelphia Swaps Hopper to Baltimore for Ray The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Philadelphia Phillies sent 28-year old center fielder Norris Hopper to the Baltimore Orioles for 25-year old reliever Chris Ray.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
To date Hopper has a .287 career batting average and has totaled 2 home runs.
In Ray's career he has 6 saves with a 14-4 record and a 3.01 ERA. |  | Tuesday, December 11th, 2007: Seattle-Baltimore Deal: Bloomquist for Smith Officials for the Seattle Mariners confirmed that they have traded 30-year old second baseman Willie Bloomquist and 23-year old minor league reliever Cesar Jimenez to the Baltimore Orioles. In return, the Mariners will receive 28-year old starting pitcher Bud Smith.
In his career Bloomquist has gotten 156 hits with a .309 batting average, scored 76 runs, hit 1 home run and driven in 56.
During his career Smith's won-lost record is 83 wins and 60 losses with a 3.94 ERA.
