Saturday, November 10th, 2007: AL Gives Outstanding Pitcher Award
C.C. Sabathia of the Cleveland Indians was on cloud nine the entire 2007 season, mystifying most of the hitters he faced, then capping it off with the American League Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Sabathia was spectacular in 34 starting assignments with 19 wins and 8 losses, 242.2 innings, 222 strikeouts and a fine 2.56 ERA.

All of the award-winning players will be honored this weekend at the SBWA annual awards dinner.
Saturday, November 3rd, 2007: St. Louis Cardinals Duncan to Cleveland for Peralta
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The St. Louis Cardinals sent 26-year old left fielder Chris Duncan to the Cleveland Indians for 25-year old shortstop Jhonny Peralta.

Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

During his career Duncan is batting .270 and has totaled 54 home runs.

Peralta has played in 640 games and posted a lifetime .255 average. He has 595 hits, 151 doubles, 9 triples and 48 homers. In addition he has driven in 269 runs and scored 310 times.
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007: Cleveland Indians and Reds Agree to Trade
The Cleveland Indians have parted ways with 28-year old second baseman Bernie Castro, sending him to the Cincinnati Reds for 25-year old left fielder Wily Mo Pena. The Indians general manager confirmed the deal in an announcement this morning.

Looking at his career numbers, Castro has played in 200 games with a .250 batting average. Among his 181 hits are 29 doubles, 10 triples and 14 home runs. He also has scored 122 runs and driven in 76 runs.

Lifetime Pena has compiled a .253 batting average and collected 655 hits, 133 home runs and 426 RBIs.
