| Breaking News | | Sunday, September 2nd, 2007: Sanches Chosen SL1's Best Pitcher
The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2007 has been announced, and the Sub League 1 winner is Tacoma bullpen ace Brian Sanches.
During the year, Sanches excelled with 33 saves in 34 save opportunities, a 1.46 ERA and 6 wins and 6 losses. In 55.1 innings he struck out 59 and gave up 41 hits and 17 walks.
This weekend the SION Baseball Writers Association will present the trophy to Sanches at its annual awards dinner. |
 | Wednesday, August 1st, 2007: SL1 Top Pitcher for July Picked
The top pitcher this past month in the Sub League 1 was Robinson Tejeda of the Tacoma Arsenal. He really bewildered league hitters, finishing July with an excellent 6-0 record and 1.67 ERA.
The Arsenal hurler made 6 starts and surrendered 31 hits in 37.2 innings. He struck out 30 and walked 13.
So far this season Tejeda has 13 wins and 3 losses and a 1.98 ERA. |
| Sunday, July 1st, 2007: SL1 Selects Tejeda June's #1 Pitcher
Tacoma starter Robinson Tejeda claimed the Sub League 1 Pitcher of the Month Award today with his strong performance in June.
The 25-year-old starter tossed 38.1 innings of solid baseball, putting up a 1.64 ERA, 25 strikeouts and a 4-1 record in 6 starts.
His record this season is 7-3 in 12 starts and Tejeda has a 2.13 ERA. |
