Monday, August 6th, 2007: SL2's Star Player Named
Brent Abernathy went on a week-long hitting spree against Sub League 2 pitchers and captured the Player of the Week honors.

The Wichita second baseman battered the opposition for 12 hits, 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. He hit .480 and posted a .500 on-base percentage.

In 2007 Abernathy has put up a .249 batting average with 89 hits, 11 home runs and 40 RBIs.
Tuesday, April 17th, 2007: Wichita Blanks Blue Meanies, Marquis Wins
Jason Marquis bent a little, but he didn't break against the Blue Meanies. The Wichita pitcher hurled a 4-hit 6-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and putting up 6 strikeouts.

"Jason is good at getting out of jams," his manager told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
