Wednesday, September 5th, 2007: SL1 Gives out Outstanding Hitter Award, Williamson Gets Prize
A great year at the plate is often interrupted by injuries and slumps that crop up through the long season. Not the case for first baseman Antone Williamson, who nailed down the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award with his strong consistent output from start to finish.

He put up a .330 average and .427 on-base percentage in 2007 as he totaled 151 hits, 38 doubles, 4 triples, 24 home runs, 107 RBIs and 78 runs scored.

For being named the SL1's top hitter, Williamson will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.
Saturday, July 28th, 2007: Hit Parade! Butler Pops 5 Hits!
Clarendon Hills third baseman Brent Butler really lit up the Lowell Commandos with a 5-hit barrage today at Ballpark of Clarendon Hills -- a performance that sparked the Islanders to a 10-9 triumph.

He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."

B. Butler flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and tripled in the 10th.

So far this year Butler has 12 home runs and a .285 batting average.
Saturday, July 28th, 2007: Butler Shows Off, Hits for Cycle
Getting 5 hits in a game is a pretty good feat, but when those 5 hits include a single, double, triple and a home run all in one game -- that makes it extra special. The Clarendon Hills third baseman did just that, hitting for the cycle and sparking the Islanders to a 10-9 victory over the Commandos at Ballpark of Clarendon Hills.

The elated Butler told reporters, "Winning is the name of the game...and hitting a cycle puts a little icing on it."

The 5-6 day was also good for his batting average as he saw it rise up to .833. In addition, Butler had 2 runs batted in and 4 runs scored.

B. Butler flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and tripled in the 10th.

This season Butler has hit 12 home runs and posted a .285 batting average.
