| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 25th, 2007: Sub League 1 Names #1 Player It was announced today by the Sub League 1 that Great River shortstop Oswaldo Navarro had received the Player of the Week Trophy for his superlative play last week.
The Great River shortstop wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers, pounding them for a .500 average (11-22) with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.
This year Navarro is hitting .325, produced 20 RBIs and 7 home runs, scored 28 times and gotten on base at a .383 rate. |  | Saturday, May 5th, 2007: Navarro Batters Mascotte for 5 Hits Oswaldo Navarro told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Navarro of the Great River Law did against the Mascotte Slashers. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Slashers, who suffered a 4-0 defeat.

Jesse Garcia really did a number on the Law in the Fishkill 14-0 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 6 at-bats. But Jesse Garcia did just that today for the Mosquitos and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.
"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 33-year-old shortstop said after his record-setting performance.
J. Garcia singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th.
