| Breaking News | | Thursday, August 9th, 2007: Sirens Holds Gadgets Scoreless "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Sirens manager told reporters after today's game.
The Gadgets ran into a buzzsaw as Bobby Madritsch cut them down to size 12-0 with a 3-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash the Monfort Heights South hurler doled out no walks and registered 5 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Bobby goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Madritsch also got some praise from the Lubbock manager.
"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
This season in 14 starts Bobby Madritsch has a record of 8-3 with 64 strikeouts in 88 innings and a 2.76 ERA. | | Wednesday, August 1st, 2007: Monfort Heights South's Jacobsen Winner, SL1 Best Hitter in July Bucky Jacobsen capped off a fine July by being named the Sub League 1 Batter of the Month today.
