| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, August 14th, 2007: Shabala Goes 5-5 Against Wichita After the Lino Lakes 2-1 victory over Wichita and his 5-hit day left fielder Adam Shabala told SION beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good...three or four hits even better...5 or more are out of sight...and if it is in pro ball...it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 29-year-old player gained that distinction today at Shooting Stars Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Wichita Prowlers.
The skipper of the Shooting Stars spoke glowingly of Shabala, telling SION writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Adam did that to perfection today."
A. Shabala singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, was hit by a pitch in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 11th.
In 2007 Shabala is batting .355 with 8 home runs and 39 RBIs. |  | Thursday, August 2nd, 2007: Super Swinger! LaForest Slams 5 Hits! During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Pete LaForest went 5 for 6 against the Wichita Prowlers at Ballpark of Coralville and the Jesters picked up a 20-3 victory.
He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted catcher was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room.
"He was patient up there today," the Coralville skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. LaForest has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes."
P. LaForest singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
This year LaForest is hitting .358, produced 18 RBIs and 0 home runs, scored 22 times and gotten on base at a .429 rate. |  | Monday, July 23rd, 2007: Sub League 1 Hitter of the Week The Sub League 1 made it official today: Brian Dallimore is the Player of the Week.
