It was a good day all around. Wichita whipped Baton Rouge 18-4 and Colt Morton displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Prowlers Ballpark.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Colt is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."
The 25-year-old first baseman for the Prowlers collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
C. Morton hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
