The Sub League 1 has selected Joaquin Arias of the Desert View Highlands Ascenders as Player of the Week.
He hit .565 (13-23) this past week collecting 5 RBIs, scored 3 runs and 1 home run.
This year Arias is batting .327 with 106 hits, 3 home runs, 34 RBIs, 24 walks, .378 OBP and has scored 39 runs. |

La Grulla third baseman Henry Mateo really lit up the Desert View Highlands Ascenders with a 5-hit barrage today at La Grulla Grounds -- a performance that sparked the Immortals to a 16-13 triumph.
He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."
H. Mateo singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
This year Mateo has hit 3 home runs and posted a .316 batting average. |
