| Breaking News | | Monday, June 11th, 2007: Davidson Week's Top Player Nobody in the Sub League 1 had a better week than Cleatus Davidson ...Noooo-body! That's why he was voted the Player of the Week.
During the week the Montgomery first baseman compiled a .545 batting average (6-11) with 2 home runs, 4 runs batted in and scored 2 runs.
Thus far in 2007 Davidson has hit .296 with 4 home runs, 38 RBIs and scored 30 runs. | | Friday, May 25th, 2007: 5-6 Game for Wise "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Scottsdale's Dewayne Wise told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well."
It definitely turn out well for Wise today as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats against Montgomery. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Vampires knocked off the Nightmares 13-11 at Vampires Ballpark.
D. Wise singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, walked in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off K. Beirne in the 11th.
This season Wise is batting at a .348 clip with 4 home runs and 24 RBIs. | | Saturday, May 5th, 2007: Venafro Wants to Leave Nightmares It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Montgomery were buzzing with the news that their 33-year old reliever Mike Venafro had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Montgomery or wanting to leave." said one person. | | | Pitching Staff | | Role | Throws | Pitcher | W | L | SV | ERA | | | Closer | L | Mike Venafro | 3 | 5 | 2 | 3.92 | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 68-52, .567 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 10.0 GB | | Record at home | 30-30, .500 PCT | | Record on the road | 38-22, .633 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-10, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 14-16, .467 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 17-7, .708 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 51-45, .531 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 9-15, .375 PCT | | Record in May | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in June | 18-8, .692 PCT | | Record in July | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in August | 10-3, .769 PCT |
